Pronunciation: hī′ō-sī′ă-mēn
Definition: An alkaloid found in hyoscyamus, belladonna, Duboisia, and stramonium; the levorotatory component of the racemic mixture atropine; used as an antispasmodic, analgesic, and sedative; hyoscyamine hydrobromide is used for the same purposes.
