Definition: the ratio of blood flow in the hepatic artery to total hepatic flow, usually calculated from Doppler ultrasound measurements of hepatic artery and portal vein contrast wash-in; used to screen for liver metastases in patients with colon cancer.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
