Pronunciation: ge-del′stē-ă
Definition: A genus of nasal botflies (family Oestridae) that includes the species Gedoelstia cristata and Gedoelstia haessleri, which parasitize wildebeest, hartebeest, and other African antelopes; may also cause a ophthalmomyiasis in sheep and humans.
