Definition: the clusters of postsynaptic neurons located at intervals along the sympathetic trunks, including the superior cervical, middle cervical, and cervicothoracic (stellate) ganglion, the thoracic, lumbar, and sacral ganglia, and the ganglion impar.
Synonym(s): ganglia trunci sympathiciTA, chain ganglia, paravertebral ganglia
