Definition: origin, posterior tibial; distribution, courses deep to the flexor hallucis longus, supplying it and the soleus, tibialis posterior, fibularis muscles, inferior tibiofibular articulation, ankle joint, and lateral heel; anastomoses, anterior lateral malleolar, lateral tarsal, lateral plantar, dorsalis pedis.
