Definition: origin, continuation of external iliac distal to the inguinal ligament; branches, external pudendal, superficial epigastric, superficial circumflex iliac, deep artery of thigh, descending genicular, terminating as the popliteal artery as it passes through the adductor hiatus to enter the popliteal space.
