extraserosal fascia
Definition: generic term for any fascia lying internal to the parietal fascia and external to the visceral fascia (between the parietal and visceral facsia); an obvious extraserosal fascia is the areolar endopelvic fascia, with loose areolar portions and fibroareolar portions that form the pelvic ligaments such as the cardinal ligament of the uterus.
