ethmoid cells
Definition: ethmoidal air cells; evaginations of the mucous membrane of the middle and superior meatus of the nasal cavity into the ethmoidal labyrinth forming multiple small paranasal sinuses; they are subdivided into anterior, middle and posterior ethmoidal sinuses.
