Erdheim-Chester disease
Pronunciation: erd′hīm-ches′tĕr
Definition: rare systemic disorder characterized by proliferation of histocytes, by symmetric sclerosis at diametaphysial portions of lower limbs, and by extraskeletal involvement. Microscopically, infiltration of affected organs by lipophages and Touton giant cells is evident.
