Definition: Pertaining to a structure or medium (tissue) that has internal echoes. Cf. hypoechoic, hyperechoic, and anechoic, which refer, respectively, to paucity, abundance, and absence of echoes displayed in the image of a structure.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
