Definition: a familial disorder beginning in late childhood, characterized by progressive cerebellar ataxia, action myoclonus and preserved intellect. Probably due to multiple causes, of which mitochondrial abnormalities are one.

Synonym(s): dentatorubral cerebellar atrophy with polymyoclonus
