Pronunciation: dis-fĕr′lin
Definition: A skeletal muscle sarcoplasmic protein that interacts with another skeletal muscle membrane protein, caveolin, to repair damaged cell membranes. Deficiency of dysferlin may be responsible for some forms of muscular dystrophy.
