Definition: an inconstant and poorly developed muscle on the dorsal surfaces of the sacrum and coccyx, the remains of a portion of the tail musculature of lower animals.
Synonym(s): dorsal sacrococcygeal muscle, musculus extensor coccygis, musculus sacrococcygeus dorsalis, musculus sacrococcygeus posterior
