Pronunciation: dī-meth′ă-dī′ōn
Definition: The active metabolite formed by the N-demethylation of trimethadione, an oxazolidinedione type antiepileptic agent. Can be used for in vivo measurement of intracellular pH.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
