diaper dermatitis
colloquially referred to as diaper rash; dermatitis of thighs and buttocks resulting from exposure to urine and feces in infants' diapers. Formerly attributed to ammonia formation; moisture, bacterial growth, and alkalinity may all induce lesions.Synonym(s): diaper rash, nappy rash
