deep petrosal nerve
Definition: the deep petrosal branch of the internal carotid plexus, which joins the greater petrosal nerve at the entrance of the pterygoid canal forming the nerve of the pterygoid canal and thus provides postsynaptic fibers to the pterygopalatine ganglion.
