Definition: a species of mosquito that is the principal endemic vector of Eastern equine encephalomyelitis virus; given that this species feeds primarily on birds, other mosquitoes (Aedes spp.) transmit the virus from birds to humans and horses.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
