Pronunciation: kris′tăl vī′ō-let
Definition: A compound that has been used in the external treatment of burns, wounds, and fungal infections of skin and mucous membranes, and internally for pinworm and certain fluke infections; used as a stain for chromatin, amyloid, platelets in blood, fibrin, and neuroglia; used also to differentiate bacteria.
Synonym(s): methylrosaniline chloride
