cresol
Pronunciation: krē′sol
Definition: A mixture of the three isomeric methyl phenols, o-, m-, and p-cresol, obtained from coal tar. Its properties are similar to those of phenol, but it is less poisonous; used as an antiseptic and disinfectant.
