Definition: A compound, N-(aminoiminomethyl)-N-methylglycine, which occurs in urine, sometimes simply as creatine, but generally as creatinine, and in muscle, generally as phosphocreatine. Elevated levels are found in the urine of individuals with muscular dystrophy.
