Pronunciation: kō-sin-trō′pin
Definition: a synthetic corticotrophic agent, comprising the first 24 amino acyl residues of human ACTH, which sequence is found in several other species and which retains the full biologic activity of the complete ACTH; the remaining 15 residues differ among species and confer specific immunologic properties.
Synonym(s): tetracosactide, tetracosactin
