Pronunciation: klamp lōd′ĕr
Definition: A multiprotein complex that catalyzes the assembly of circular sliding clamps on DNA to enable processive DNA replication. The complex binds primer template DNA and positions it in the center of a clamp to form a topologic link between the two.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
