Definition: a type I transmembrane protein present on monocytes, granulocytes, endothelial cells, dendritic cells, and fibroblasts that stimulates cell proliferation and differentiation; expressed in osteogenic sarcoma and breast and lung carcinomas.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
