Definition: a type I transmembrane protein present on the placenta, macrophages, monocytes, and monocyte-precursors that is involved in proliferation and differentiation of monocytes and their progenitors; expressed in choriocarcinomas.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
