Definition: Protooncogene that encodes the transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor CD 117; detected by flow cytometry in most cases of acute myeloid leukemia, in small numbers of T- and B-lymphoblastic lymphomas, and in some gastrointestinal stromal tumors.
