Definition: Grains of paradise. Dried ripe seeds of Elettaria cardamomum; used for flavoring baked goods, confectionery, curry powder, and in the manufacture of oil of cardamom which is used for flavoring liqueurs. Pharmaceutical aid (flavor); adjuvant and carminative.
