Definition: a test of vestibular function in which each ear canal is alternately or simultaneously irrigated with water at 7°C higher or lower than body temperature; the nystagmus produced may be monitored for direction, amplitude, speed of the slow component, and duration.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
