Definition: a subunit of a number of enzymes (acetyl-CoA carboxylase). It catalyzes the formation of carboxybiotin (on a biotin-carrier protein), ADP, and Pi from ATP, CO2 ,and biotin.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
