Pronunciation: bik′ū-nin
Definition: A plasma glycoprotein that is found in both the free state and covalently bound to the heavy chains of certain protease inhibitors. It may participate in cell growth, oocyte cumulus expansion and stabilization.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
