basal part
Definition: portion of a structure which forms its base—the bottom part or part opposite the apex of the structure—or a branch serving that portion of the structure; e.g., the basal part of the lungs (formed by the four basal bronchopulmonary segments of each side) served by basal parts of the right and left pulmonary arteries.
