Bárány caloric test
Pronunciation: bah′rah-nēa test for vestibular function, made by irrigating the external auditory canal with cool and warm water; this thermal stimulation of the vestibular apparatus results in nystagmus and past-pointing; in vestibular disease, the response may be reduced or absent.
