asymmetric septal hypertrophy
Definition: abnormal enlargement, congenital or acquired, of the left ventricular side of the septum under the aortic valve causing outflow obstruction and abnormal movement of the mitral valve.
Synonym(s): idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis
