ascorbate oxidase

 

Definition: a copper-containing enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of l-ascorbic acid with O2 to produce l-dehydroascorbic acid. Some forms of ascorbate oxidase use NADP+ as well. Used as an antitumor enzyme.
