areolar tissue
Definition: loose, irregularly arranged connective tissue consisting of collagenous and elastic fibers; ground substance that is rich in proteoglycans, glycoproteins, and glycosaminoglycans; and connective tissue cells (fibroblasts, macrophages, mast cells, and sometimes fat cells, plasma cells, leukocytes, and pigment cells).
