arch of azygos vein
Definition: the superiorly directed convex arch formed by the terminal part of the azygos vein at the level of the T4/T5 intervertebral disc (transverse thoracic plane) as it arches anteriorly over the root of the right lung, passing from the posterior mediastinum to the inferior vena cava.
