anti–basement membrane glomerulonephritis
Definition: glomerulonephritis resulting from the presence of anti-basement membrane antibodies, characterized by smooth linear deposits of IgG and C3 along glomerular capillary walls; includes rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis and glomerulonephritis in Goodpasture syndrome.
