Definition: Infection of the intestinal wall by larvae of Anisakis marina and other genera of anisakid nematodes (Contracaecum, Phocanema), characterized by intestinal eosinophilic granuloma and symptoms resembling those of peptic ulcer or tumor.
Synonym(s): herring-worm disease
