amygdalin
Pronunciation: ă-mig′dă-lin
Definition: A cyanogenic glucoside present in almonds and seeds of other plants of the family Rosaceae; the principal component of laetrile. Emulsin splits amygdalin into benzaldehyde, d-glucose, and hydrocyanic acid.
