Definition: An enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of monocarboxylic amides to free acid plus NH3; ω-amidase acts on amides such as α-ketoglutaramic acid and α-ketosuccinamic acid.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
