Definition: a heavy chain disease that has monoclonal serum-urine immunoglobulin component that contains only α chain fragments but no light chain. May occur in a spectrum of plasmacytoses ranging from plasma cell hyperplasia to plasma cell myeloma.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
