Pronunciation: ă-mē′nō-ă-dip′ik as′id
Definition: An intermediate of lysine biosynthesis in higher fungi and bacteria, but not in algae and higher plants. Also found in the degradation of lysine in mammals.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
