acetylcholinesterase

Pronunciation: a-sĕ′til-kō′lin-es′ter-ās
The cholinesterase that hydrolyzes acetylcholine to acetate and choline within the central nervous system and at peripheral neuroeffector junctions (motor endplates and autonomic ganglia).
