A 4-day course for physicians seeking to expand and reinforce their knowledge and clinical competencies in Internal Medicine, focusing on subjects that are directly relevant to clinical scenarios that will be encountered on the ABIM Recertification (MoC) Board exam, as well as in the clinical setting. Presented by J. Thomas Cross, Jr., MD, MPH, FACP and Candace L. Walkley, MD, both ABIM-recertified physicians with a combined 25 years in physician education.
They focus on 12 key subspecialty areas that are tested on an ABIM recert exam. Additional sessions focus on Acid-Base, PFTs, diabetes, and Statistics They have input from 11 of the nation's top IM specialists and subspecialists in developing the course content. Presented in a manageable pace of two lecture sessions daily. Course includes a superior syllabus that directly mirrors speaker presentations. Formal Learning Objectives: • Integrate and demonstrate increased overall knowledge of Internal Medicine • Identify and remedy areas of weakness (gaps) in knowledge and clinical competencies • Describe the clinical manifestations and treatments of diseases encountered in Internal Medicine and effectively narrow the differential diagnosis list by utilizing the most appropriate medical studies• Apply the competence and confidence gained through participation in this activity to both a successful Board exam-taking experience and daily practice
