This course is designed to increase the clinical knowledge base of anesthesia, trauma care and perioperative healthcare providers. Course participant evaluations and community physician annual needs assessment surveys have identified the need for cutting edge information about perioperative healthcare. Topics to be covered include recent advances in anesthesiology and its major subspecialties including ambulatory, pediatric, regional anesthesia, acute pain management and trauma care.

Lectures will address the economic impact and cost savings of regional anesthesia, regional anesthesia and perioperative pain management, perioperative hemostasis, updates on trauma resuscitation, and the impact of health care reform on anesthesia practice. This year’s conference will specifically address these identified educational needs and provide practitioners with state-of-the-art tools to deliver improved treatment options for their patients. Faculty presenting and interacting with participants at this activity have been selected on the basis of their comprehensive clinical experience and academic excellence.
