Medications for Infectious Hepatitis with Coma

A viral infection of the liver causing inflammation and swelling of the liver caused by the Hepatitis A virus. The hepatitis A virus is transmitted through ingestion of contaminated food and water, or through direct contact with an infectious person. It can cause mild to severe illness. Coma - a loss of consciousness - may result if the patient develops hepatic encephalopathy.
