Helicobacter Pylori Infection Medications

Definition of Helicobacter Pylori Infection:

Helicobacter pylori (H. Pylori) is the bacterium (germ) that causes most gastritis and ulcers. Gastritis is an irritation in the lining of the stomach; an ulcer is a sore in the lining of the stomach or duodenum.

Gastritis and ulcers can also be caused by some medications or too much stomach acid, but the most common cause is H. pylori infection. Poor diet, stress, and smoking can make ulcers worse but do not cause ulcers as was thought in the past.
