Medications for Hepatitis C

Other names: Chronic Hepatitis C; Hepatitis C, Chronic

Common Hepatitis C medications include Epclusa, Mavyret, Harvoni, Sovaldi, Zepatier, and others. Hepatitis C is treated with antiviral medications that are tablets or capsules. The goal of Hepatitis C treatment is to cure Hepatitis by clearing all the Hepatitis C virus from your body, which will reduce damage to your liver and reduce the risk of liver cancer and liver failure.

Your healthcare provider will prescribe a Hepatitis C medication combination that is based on:

  • genotype of Hepatitis C virus (genotype 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6)
  • if you have damage to your liver
  • previous treatment
  • age.

Hepatitis C medications often contain more than one antiviral ingredient and single-ingredient hepatitis C drugs are usually taken in combination with other medications.

Two ingredient Hepatitis C medications

Three ingredient Hepatitis C medication

  • Vosevi (sofosbuvir, velpatasvir, and voxilaprevir )
