For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "Hi everyone. I had a myomectomy last year in August 2020 as I had a huge fibroid which was 15cm. Just before this surgery for one month I suffered from heavy periods and one day I had to get admitted in emergency as the flow was uncontrollable and I was changing my pads within 5 minutes with large blood clots. To stop this bleeding doctor gave me injection of tranexamic acid and then before surgery I had it for 2 days. It’s an effective medicine no doubt and after surgery I am still taking it coz of heavy bleeding on 2nd day but what I noticed is that it is making my each cycle more heavier than previous. Initially I started taking only 1 pill on 2nd day. But on 4th month I had to take 10 tablets for 4 days . I don’t know what is this but tranexamic acid makes blood clots and after taking this I started passing more clots with less bleeding. Can anybody experienced the same please tell"

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I experienced abnormal heavy bleeding for 4 weeks, was anemic and in danger of needing a transfusion. I took Lysteda, as prescribed, for 5 days. It slowed my bleeding and I was able to sleep through the night without getting up to take care of overflow, allowing much needed rest. After 5 days, my bleeding stopped entirely. Doctors are still looking for the cause of my abnormal bleeding, but Lysteda has addressed the crisis and is giving me a reprieve from heavy blood loss. I'm grateful."

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Menstrual Disorders "I had horrible reactions to this medication which landed me back in the hospital ER twice. Nine days later my body is still struggling to get this drug out of my system. I will never take it again. If you have a reaction to it, there is no reversing it. Use caution."

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Menstrual Disorders "This medication is life-changing! I have uterus didelphys (double uterus) so I have an extremely heavy period. I would wear a super tampon and pad at the same time and have to change them every 1-2 hours. Hormonal birth control gave me some not-so-great side effects and interacted with some other medications I was taking, so my gyn suggested this. Thank god she did! I feel like I’m finally in control of my life again when I’m on my period- it’s light, predictable, and I don’t really have to worry about it. I’ve been using it for several months and I haven’t noticed any side effects."

For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I'm 45 years old and scheduled for total hysterectomy for Fibroid cysts. While waiting for surgery date and having horrible, unbreabe pain while passing huge blood clots the doctor on call prescribed Tranexamic Acid 2 three times a day. Within 20 mins of the first dose, I had relief from pain!! Now on my third day and bleeding has substantially subsided and most importantly the pain is gone! I experienced no side effects. These were an answer to prayers!"

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I’m 46 years old and Lysteda has been a miracle drug for me. In the last two years, my period took a turn for the worst - i.e. horrible clots that no tampon in the world could hold. I would randomly pass large clots one day, minimal bleeding the next and then clots again! It was so unpredictable that I was afraid to go anywhere in public. Let’s just say, I had one too many experiences, where I had to run to the ladies room at the grocery store, nail spa, car dealership... just to name a few. I’m blessed in that I work for a group of minimally invasive gynecologists who suggested I try Lysteda. My period is not “perfect”, but it’s definitely improved w/Lysteda!"

For Melasma "Lightened my forehead Melasma in a week and continues to lighten, I’ve only been on it a little over a month. My Melasma is so light I can’t even see where it used to be on my cheek and my forehead spot is so faint I don’t care to cover it with makeup anymore ( I wouldn’t be caught without concealer on before starting), I don't think anyone even notices it. I am supposed to take 650 daily, half am, half pm, but usually skip pm dose since just half is helping so much anyway. My doc only wants me to take it for 3 months."

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I'm 31. I've been having extremely heavy periods for about 4 years, ever since I had my Implanon removed. I have been literally going through 50 super plus tampons in a single day. I cant work when its like that. I started Lysteda two cycles ago and although its helped lower the bleeding tremendously, they have also discovered I'm no longer ovulating. Although the medicine has worked wonders, I have gone ahead and opted for the hysterectomy as the dr says its the only thing that will fix it. So, this is my last extremely painful cycle to deal with! I definitely reccomend the medication for anyone with heavy bleeding that interferes with their life the way it has mine."

For Menstrual Disorders "Am nearly 40 an have suffered badly for 12 months apparently am at that age with periods where it get worse before it stop. After examination scans, an number of contraceptive pills, injections, implants nothing has worked over the years only made me worse. So after 2 kids (12 and 8 years old) my husband had the snip and I decided it was time to go back to square 1 with seeing a doctor to be given this box of life savers (tranexamic acid) I swear it best thing only does it reduce my menstrual flow, it reduce the pain, I am more live, able to cope with an no interference in the night (not the pmt ) and I can live a lighter less painful life. So far so good. I start it on the 1st day of bleeding even if only spotting an stop on the 4th day - being the last day you take the tablets. It worked wonders for me "

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "Within 20 minutes of taking this medication one side of my body became numb, I got really confused, and felt like I could not talk and then I lost consciousness briefly. It was the closest thing I can imagine to a stroke, and the after effects from this very scary experience lasted for days. I was told to discontinue immediately."

For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "Hi, I am a 47 year old woman that was diagnosed with uterine fibroids and therefore, suffer with Menorrhagia and anemia. My doctor first prescribed Norethindrone, which made me bleed even heavier and longer with the most horrible cramps ever! I went back to my GYN and she prescribed the Tranexamic Acid. So far, so good! My bleeding is very light, and I only bled for four days as opposed to the usual 10 days. I have not experienced any side effects at all. I just started taking the medicine but so far, I have no complaints, other than I have to pay for it every month. There are only 30 pills in the bottle and you need to take two pills, three times a day for five days. But, if it stops me from the heavy bleeding, I say it's worth it!"

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Menstrual Disorders "I was diagnosed with fibroids, a tipped uterus, and a small ovarian cyst -causing extra heavy and erratic cycles. I really don't want surgery so my GYN but me on Lysteda. I loved it for the first couple of months-- After the 2nd month, my cycle started occurring every 2-3 weeks. One month it did not happen at all. Then the last 2 cycles seemed to be normal - until the end, then they started all over again with clots and heavy bleeding. Back to my gyn. Looks like I may have to have the surgery afterall."

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Menstrual Disorders "Used for first time and it was great with slowing down the bleeding (literally shocked at how well) and allowed me the ability to carry on with life. The bleeding was lighter but still lasted 7 plus days. One major concern I had was in regard to passing clots. While normally heavy, I passed two extremely huge (much much larger than normal) clots. Hoping a result of just first time using."

For Melasma "*WARNING* I Decided to try this medication for treating pigmentation. Unfortunately I have haven't been on the course long enough to see the improvement. But have experienced side effects, of extreme tiredness, foggy-ness, light headedness, depression along with a swollen lip and hyper sensitivity of my thyroid etc.... and its only been 10 days of use. I am putting this out there that people need to be extra cautious with this drug. For me personally I don't think its worth the effect it brings onto your body, Along with other horror stories I have read In the reviews, I won't be taking this drug lightly. "

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I am 37 years old and have been dealing with debilitating periods for 20+ yrs. My issue used to be horrible cramps (so bad I would vomit from pain), and most recently the bleeding and large clots became more of my issue. I wouldn't even leave my house bc I was afraid of the sudden "whoosh" that no feminine product could be a match for. :-( After testing, found out I have a large fibroid. Not wanting to jump to surgery I chose to take Lysteda. (My insurance gave me a generic version.) The reviews on here made me scared to death to try, but I started to take anyway. My clots have stopped and my flow is 50% lighter, so I would call it normal finally. I still bleed 5 days and have minor cramps but nothing like I used to have! I can live a regular life when I have my period! My cycle starts like clockwork now, before I was usually a week or more late each month. I will say, it DOES may me sleepy, but that is my only side effect."

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Menstrual Disorders "Let me just say last month from the evening of the 1st to the morning of the 3rd I used 50 pads !! A few tampons too ! I started lysteda on the evening of the 1st this month, yes it was lighter !! 28 pads in 2 days. Day 3 and 4 got heavier!! Today I had clotting like I've never seen in my 30 plus years of having a cycle (dollar bill size). The cramps were so bad I felt like I was in labor !! I do suffer from fibriod tumors, and anemia due to heavy bleeding . I'm having a hysterectomy next month, and my Dr wants me to take these pills again next month. I WILL NOT TAKE ANY MORE OF THESE PILLS !! NOT 1 MORE !!"

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I've suffered with heavy periods for the past couple of years. I wanted to make sure that I considered all options before choosing surgery. This medication is great, but has some side effects. For me, I have headaches and diarrhea while on this medication and a few days after my cycle has ended. I also found that my cycle last longer when I take this medication. At this point, I've opted to contend with 2 days of heavy bleeding and with a cycle that last 4-5 days, as opposed to taking the medication with extended periods, headaches and diarrhea; that could last 8-9 days. The plus/pro of the medication is that my periods are lighter when I am taking the medication, however it stays on much longer."

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "As a practitioner I have found Lysteda to be quite effective in the short term but many insurances do not cover it. In women who do not desire future childbearing and have a normal uterine shape (no huge fibroids) I have found office cryo (freezing) ablation to be as effective as hospital based electrosurgical or Heated fluid (hydrothermal). It takes about 20-30 minutes with simply a local anesthetic cervical injection and preprocedure Ibuprofen, Valium (5 mgs) and Percocet (one at home, one on arrival). The average patient pain assessment is 2-3/10 and 80% of women have no flow to what everyone else considers normal. Please ask your own practitioner about it.. It's called HerOption and I have no financial interest in the company"

For Menstrual Disorders "I used to have super heavy periods, where even standing up would be an issue (now have bloodstains all around the house from leaking) and I would leak through super plus tampon and super night pad together after just an hour, now my period is 'normal' I wouldn't call it light cause it's still not light I think but it's just normal like other people's periods and I think it is FAB! and I would recommend this to any fellow lady with crazy mental periods because I've not leaked since! wooooo ((however cramps have slightly worsened))"

For Melasma "I started using tranexamic acid in March 2020. I used it for 4 months and my skin was looking better than it had in over 10 years. As soon as I stopped my hair started to fall out. I don't know what to do. I can't stop it. Now here I am in September 2020 and the melasma is almost completely back. Now I have two big problems. So depressing."

For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "My mom and I are symptomatic carriers of hemophilia B and both have heavy periods. My mom has fibroids while I don't. Tranexamic acid has been a miracle. It stopped flooding, gushing, and anemia. We're normal women again! We have found that you can cut the dose in half and it still works. We also wait to start taking it until we're about a day into our periods to make sure we don't run out before the actual end of the period. Do not delay taking the pills on time after you begin taking them each cycle or you may gush! I'm on medicaid and had to appeal to get them to cover the cost, but they did because I can't take birth control."

For Menstrual Disorders "My doctor just prescribed this medication for me to use until my surgery. I am to take two 650mg tablets up to 3 times daily as needed. It is to be taken only during my menstrual cycle and not to exceed 5 days. I am always nervous and reluctant to take new medications. Yesterday I took my first dose when I was experiencing an extremely heavy menstrual flow and was getting very faint. I did not expect it to work so quickly! I saw a reduction of blood flow very quickly. I have taken only two more doses and I am still pleasantly surprised. I have noticed absolutely no side affects. "

For Menstrual Disorders "I have 20 large fibroids that have come back after two my surgeries. I have just started taking these tablets and what a huge difference it has made to my life. I can now leave the house and no more flooding. I can sleep though the night without getting up multiple times to change. No more large clots. If you bleed to death every month, get these tablets!"
