"These would be good if the burning wasn’t worse than the actual symptom that you’re trying to treat. Yeah my eyes don’t itch anymore but it feels like I got splashed with paint thinner. Ouch. And my eyes were blurry for a bit"

"I've consumed cannabis for several decades, and my wife wears contacts, so between the two of us, we've gone through a serious amount of eyedrops from various companies. Visine has always been the golden standard, but they really dropped the ball with this product. It's slightly less irritating than putting gun-smoked sand in your eyes. Expect blurry, stinging eyes that water and make your nose snot up. You'll look like you just got dumped. The itch stops after 30 minutes or so, but by then your eyes are as red because you've been rubbing them so much. Did Johnson & Johnson bother to test this product on humans? It seems doubtful. You know what? I'm contacting J&J and seeing what they have to say for themselves. They HAVE to know that they're selling lava disguised as eyedrops, right?"

"I ran out of my regular eye drops for eye dryness and had a bottle of Visine Totality that was given to me, I verified it was not experienced and was a new bottle. I've never had eye drops that burn my eyes! It just made everything worse! It really, really burns and I wish I had checked these reviews before applying. This product should not be on the market. I'm glad I tested it on just one of my eyes instead of both eyes as this was a very unpleasant experience."

"My Walmart ran out of my usual eye drops so I purchased these. The first time I used them I got a HORRIBLE burning sensation, close to the feeling of when your scratch your cornea up, and blurriness occurred. I gave it a second chance a few weeks later thinking maybe I just wasn’t used to the new drops, the same thing occurred but this time I was seeing double as well. Whatever is in this can’t be safe. PLEASE don’t buy!"

"First 2 drops and my eyes burned so bad I was in tears..even the skin right below my eyes showed a red mark. I had to flush my eyes with water. This stiff is horrible. I think we all should contact the company."

"Today I went to CVS to purchase eye drops because myself, I wear contacts daily and my eyes get dry frequently so I have to get eyedrops to help with the dryness. I bought a bottle of Visine multi-symptom relief and I came home and took my contacts out and put the eye drops in my eyes. After about a minute or so I got terrible burning pain in my eye, it felt like someone poured bleach in my eyes. Not to mention it made my eyes extremely red. However, the burning and redness is starting to fade, but I still feel pain and it still has red streaks in my eyes. The only thing that seems to help me is using my saline solution which makes my eyes feel cooler and helps soothe the pain. I also recommend using a cold towel and place it over your eyelids and shut your eyes so that it helps with the burning as well. It really sucks how I spent quite a lot on this product and it ends up doing the opposite of what I had hoped for."

"These eye drops burned my eyes so bad I couldn't even open them for maybe 15 seconds. After that my tear ducts and eyelids continued to have a burning sensation. I was completely in shock, being that I've used the visine brand for years."

"This is the worst eye drop I've ever used. The burning I experienced was INTENSE. The itching was horrible. I also had the same experience with Clear Eye's MAXIMUM Itchy Eye Relief. The thing I've found in common with the two, is Astringent. I don't KNOW if that's it? Just a guess. My suggestion, anyone who experienced burning with Visine Totality, also avoid the Clear Eye's mentioned above."

"I was having redness and itching due to allergies and I used the visine totality. It made my eyes burn and I couldn't see for 10 minutes. It amplified the symptoms I was already having. I'm scared to use this product because it's painful and I wasn't expecting it to burn."

"I bought the total Visine cause I have dry eyes and the sometimes water. Thinking I bought the best combo eye drops, all they did was make my eyes worse ! My eyes get so dry and they burn ! I wish I read reviews before cause it’s now in the trash. I’ve used it twice, thinking maybe the first time, my eyes were just too dry/tired. Nope. They need to recall this stupid product. Won’t be buying their brand again."

"This really burns!!! Honestly, no joke. Like someone is pouring fire directly into the cornea. Couldn't drive a car till my vision returned, which is not great when on the way to work. Yeah, it gets the redness out, but not before you experience pain similar to having your eyelids tattooed with rusty nails. "

"DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT! I’m warning you. Read these reviews everyone had the same experience I did. I wish I read them before buying this. My eyes burned soooo bad immediately after using. It felt like I poured bleach in my eye. Then the itch started. It’s been 15 mins and it’s just starting to subside after I literally stuck my eyes under my faucet. Why is this still on the market!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE."

"Tried this product twice to get rid of redness in my eyes. Each time just after applying my eyes started to burn and pretty much felt like this product gave me every symptom it was supposed to cure. My eyes felt terrible and where hard to open at first, but subsided after few minutes."

"Used once and the product burned my eyes . Then made the mistake of not throwing it away and used again in one eye and only that eye has been watering for more than 12 hours and irritated. Now the skin around the eye is sore. I'm trying not to touch it but it's drying out my skin."

"I used this product for my dry eyes, the first drop burned so much. Imagine dropping rubbing alcohol in your eye. I highly recommend no one to use this product. It really should be pulled off the shelf."

"Bought this product for the 1st time because I was having red itchy eyes & happened to see Visine Totality on the clearance shelf so I figured it would be fine with some extra benefits but how wrong I was. I put the drops in & within 30 seconds my eyes were burning very bad then the itchiness started like you wanted to scratch your eyes out & it did take the red out but after rubbing my eyes they were red again. I used it again a couple of days later because it was all I had & maybe it was a one time thing but no the 2nd time was even worse on top of the burning & itching my left eye felt like I had a cut in my eyeball and I was putting alcohol in it. BEWARE!!"

"I went to the store looking for Visine A, which works perfectly. They didn't have it. But they had Visine Totality so I got it, since I prefer Visine to the others and still do...but this stuff was potent. A tingling sensation is okay and sometimes expected. But these things burn."

"I thought that perhaps I had purchased a bad bottle. I see I'm not the only one who has had serious burning with the application of this product in the eyes. I thought I was buying something to moisten my dry eyes... A couple hours after application, my eyes feel better. After the burning stops, which takes several minutes... The burning is quite an unexpected shock."

"I do not recommend these eyedrops! They make my eyes burn like FIRE I’ve tried them over and over and had the same experience. I am throwing them out and going to buy something else tomorrow on a more natural line. I just don’t understand this!"

"I decided to try this product because my eyes were red and dry, the minute the drops touched my eyes it burned like fire. I waited about 30 minutes for the pain to go away before trying it again because my eyes were burning and itching so badly. It just made it worse. It took about 2 hours for the pain to finally go away, and my eyes were still dry and itchy."
