For Depression "I’ve been suffering from some severe depression for around 3 years now. gained 120 pounds, couple of the “s” attempts, bad anxiety, I would sleep the day away from sadness, or have crazy insomnia where I would just lay in bed crying with horrible thoughts. I started taking St Johns wort (SJW) about 2 weeks ago. One 325mg capsule 3 times a day. I get great sleep at night, easily. CRAZY vivid dreams but after about three days WOW. I would wake up at a “normal” time (9am vs 2pm) so highly motivated. I did more in 3 days than in the last 2 months. I had my period towards the end of last week felt very sluggish physically, but I wasn’t mentally unwell which is HUGE for me. I had a couple of nights of anxiety and panic falling asleep, but it didn’t linger the next day which is also huge for me. It’s definitely been a big help for me, and trust me when I say it’s been a VERY rough three years."

For Depression "I KNOW I’ve been suffering from mild-moderate depression for years: so grumpy, miserable, sad, apathetic, dragging myself out of bed each day. One night I came across a blog of someone recommending SJW. I started faithfully taking three 300mg capsules each day 2 months ago & I’ve literally got my life back!! My mood started to lift within the first week. After 4 weeks I was laughing, happy, no longer dragging myself through each day. Overall I feel 90-95% better than I did before! I just can’t see this being a ‘placebo’ effect. Friends and family have commented that I seem happier and more joyful. I've also read that full results can take up to 6 months to appear, so I’m excited to see what’s ahead! For ME this herb has been a god-send & I have noticed 0 negative effects. And a huge bottle is only $20. I say this is definitely worth trying if you are feeling badly and meet all the requirements to take it. It’s been a miracle for me so far <3 hope this helps someone"

For Depression "I was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder and have been seeing a grief counselor. I have tried 4 different types of antidepressants and couldn't stand being on any one of them for more than a day. This is working. My only side effect is not being able to sleep if I take it late in the day. I've stopped crying and obsessing. I feel calm again for the first time in years. Maybe now I can put back my life back together."

For Depression "I mainly suffer from anxiety like general anxiety and social anxiety in certain situations I also have low mood. I was on Lexapro and Amitriptyline for a little over a year they seemed to help at the start but after awhile I just didn’t feel myself I just felt numb I looked into natural treatments and decided to supplement with St Johns wort and 5HTP instead these helped me to get off the medication also I feel 100 times better and St. John’s wort has helped my social anxiety as well. I no longer feel like I have to rush away from people when they are talking to me I feel calm. It seems to have balanced out whatever was wrong in my brain and I have more motivation in life in general and look forward to things I would highly recommend I have been using 900mg for roughly 6 weeks now and it has been better than any other anti depressant I have tried."

For Depression "I started taking 300 mg St Johns Wort about five days ago on Saturday morning when I was not working. I took it first thing in the morning and very soon after, it made me very very sleepy. I had to lay down to rest for about a half hour or so but then I felt calmer and more peaceful. I had been suffering from peri-menopausal symptoms that were starting to cause me deep sadness and depression. It was changing who I am. I was getting very worried. So I started on SJW. I decided to take my next capsule Saturday night just before bed. After a half hour I felt very sleepy. I had a good nights sleep and have been taking it nightly since. I noticed at work on Monday and Tuesday that I was very calm and not so miserable as my previous symptoms had caused me. I had very good days at work. I noticed yesterday that I was back to feeling bubbly. Last night when my husband was discussing something with me that would have caused me extreme anxiety I noticed that I sat and listened attentively."

For Depression "I've been taking St Johns Wart for about two years now. I've always had massive hormonal fluctuations in relation to my monthly cycle and finally decided to try St Johns wort after a period of worsening and dreadful PM depressions. And, I'm so happy I did. It's changed my life. I feel so much happier, more positive and confident. Not all of my grey thoughts are gone, but overall, I have no doubt it has improved my brain chemistry. However, I'd recommend everyone thinking about trying it to start with as small a dose as possible. I think the dose a lot of people write about (300mg a day) sounds like a lot! I'd recommend starting much lower, observing the effects and then adjusting if necessary. I also find that taking it at night makes it difficult to sleep so I take a smaller dose at night than morning. Really there should be more guidance on how to use this, but since there's not, just being patient and starting out with a low dose, would definitely be my recommendation."

For Depression "My brother has dealt with depression his whole life, which made it difficult for anyone to get along with him, because he was always in a bad mood. He got a job transfer and moved away. It has been 6 months since I have seen him... A friend told him about Saint John's wort... Let me begin to tell you all! It really changed his life! He is a different person, His depression and anxiety is gone, we can have a conversation, without him being snappy. I myself am going to start taking SJW.....I am so thankful for this medication! I love my brother and all I ever wanted was for him to be happy."

For Depression "Life has never been easy. I have increasingly suffered from depression and panic attacks over the last few years. It got to the point where it was becoming difficult to leave the house. Constantly on edge, screaming on the inside, crying, feeling ill, feeling overwhelmed. I told my divorce attorney about my panic attacks and she suggested that I start taking st. John's Wort. On my way home from Court I stopped and bought some at Walmart. I just bought a small bottle, money is tight and I just wanted to give it a try. I noticed results after the first dose. This is day number 4. Taking 900 milligrams per day. I haven't felt anxious, on edge, haven't cried and I feel more clear-headed and focused. No side effects as of yet. ; D"

For Depression "I think anytime we read "over the counter" help we are skeptical. I know I was, but my obsessive compulsive disorder/depression was the worst it's been in a while and I had to do something. It works great. I can definitely tell when I don't take it. It's worth it to try."

For Depression "I was looking for some sort of relief from my depression. I was actually coming off of opiates and I really was miserable like depressed, so depressed that I didn't even want to get off the opiates. Then I tried St John's work and through my detox and after I was in the best mood. I had the most positive outlook on everything and it helped me quit. It helped me be the woman that I'm supposed to be. I don't recommend being out in the sun too long because it does make your sunburn a little intense. At least wear a lot of sunblock and you should be fine I mean I was. I appreciate st. John's Wort saved my life that's just my experience."

For Depression "I’ve tried about 10-11 different drugs for depression at this point, both typical and atypical. I’d finally found relief from Lamotrigine but after 6 months woke up feeling hungover and sluggish each morning, despite not drinking for days before, so I needed something else. I’ve tried so many things over the course of 14 years for my treatment-resistant depression. Medication, meditation, volunteering, journaling, hundreds of hours therapy, yoga, etc. I finally decided to try a *clinically studied* dose of St John’s Wort. I use a formula containing 650 mg 0.3% hypericin extract + 450mg herb, and take 1000mg twice daily (for the last 2 weeks). Unbelievably, I think it’s working for my Major + Bipolar (1 manic episode in last 10 yrs) + Seasonal depression, which is like a 100-foot high cold steel wall when it comes to treatment responsiveness. No side effects. If you’ve tried everything else, this might work for you too. Good luck!"

For Depression "I bought 150 mg tablets about 4-5 days ago. I take 3 per day making a 450 mg intake. I found they cured my constant fatigue I had usually experienced from the moment of wake to sleep. I had a problem of retrieving data from my mind, and since saint johns wort, I've found no trouble of my mind going blank. Nor had any problem with knowing of a word I want to use in a sentence but with all might not recalling the word. I've had much more clarity in my thoughts and better ability to focus. Less dissociation. I haven't had a tension headache since. I have more motivation when before I had none. Though I do say it hasn't cured my procrastination habits; surely there's no cure for deliberate laziness. I feel amazing since taking saint johns wort I wouldn't go back."

For Depression "I use ST. John's Wort with great success when working away at sea to lighten my moods, coming from a family with a big history of mental conditions I'm the only one who refuses to take prescribed medication. This helps me get by, be careful when coming off it because I tend to slip back into the hole once stopped...try to exercise and get lots of fresh air into the lungs when taking it. Avoid alcohol full stop."

For Depression "St John's Wort has literally turned my life around. I've had issues with depression in the past and always managed to work my way through them without help, but my last bout a few months ago got me to the point where it was starting to affect my work and people were really noticing. My personality had changed, I was temperamental, losing concentration on the job, sleeping badly, arguing with my husband, all I wanted to do was be alone... Then on a doctor's recommendation I started taking SJW. I noticed the difference within days, and 5 weeks down the track I feel like I have not felt in years!! I admit I wasn't expecting it to do anything... but I could not have been more wrong."

For Depression "This herb saved my life. It definitely works. I was diagnosed with depression and I wanted to try these before going on Lexapro. Before I was having suicidal thoughts, was crying all the time and didn%u2019t want to do anything. It made me feel more optimistic and happy. I found myself laughing again and wanting to do things. I found pleasure again in the little things and gave me hope to end depression. It works fast, in about a week. I did not have any side effects when stopping using. While using it, my eyes became sensitive to light though, it felt like it took them longer to adjust to light changes and it %u201Churt%u201D if lights flashed at me. However this was totally acceptable for me since I regained joy in life!"

For Depression "I felt from day one an immediate difference. I didn't feel better or happier, I just didn't feel bad. My mood is much more stable. My anger has softened incredibly. I am able to take things a lot better and with much more clarity. I'm totally not one for supplements and wishy washy new age homotherapy crap, but I kid you not....this stuff worked for me. It's a God send. Truly it is. Month 2 and I still see a significant difference. Even my kids and Husband see a huge difference."

For Depression "I have suffered from anxiety and depression since I was 10. Since taking St John's wort ( I use karma maximum dose once a day pill, ordered directly online) I have felt a significant improvement in my mood. I am so much calmer, I don't lose my temper as quickly. I feel my mood is much more stable. I continue to drink alcohol which is a depressant, yet I still feel the benefits. I've been taking it for 3 months, I missed a few days, I felt the benefits within 2-3 weeks. My side effects initially lost appetite, itchy skin, headaches and cyclical sore breasts being worse. My libido is the same. My mood has improved 75%. I still get anxious, but it's much more milder. I mainly feel calmer and quieter and clearer in my head. For me, it worked."

For Depression "I have been suffering with depression and anxiety for a while. I really didn't want to go to the doctors or take any medication that would give bad side effects. So I did my research and came across St Johns Wort. It says to take 1 tablet a day after a meal but I take 1 in the morning and then 1 at dinner time. I've been taking these for only a week now and I can already notice a difference in the first time I took them. My depression was so bad I wanted to commit suicide. But these have helped me so much. They have calmed my mood drastically and make me feel like I want to live and enjoy my life for the first time in ages. Thank you sooooooooooo much!! I highly recommend :)"

For Depression "I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety. I have been prescribed different antidepressants such as Zolof, lexapro, efexor.. which only made me sick. I tried st john wort and within 3 days I noticed the difference. After a week I felt like a new person. They are great, cheaper than antidepressants, you can get it from any pharmacy and they are natural. I would recommend it to anyone who suffers from anxiety, depression or has panic attacks. It also helps if you take additional supplements such as magnesium or calcium."

For Depression "I would recommend st John's wort to anyone wanting relief from mild to moderate depression symptoms if it doesn’t put you at risk of interacting with another medication you are taking. A couple of other points. I started taking three per day (900mg) which was too much. I reduced it to one a day at lunch time taken with food and some days I have one lunch time and one 1-2 hours before bed. The only side effects I have noticed are: dizziness and nausea when taken on an empty stomach (which is not recommended anyway), and one time I experienced a slight buzzing behind my left ear— it was a one-off odd sensation. Other than this I have found the benefits of this to far outweigh any side effects. I would recommend starting low and seeing how it affects you. Highly recommend this has saved me from going to get back on SSRIs. I had been researching what ones to go back on with the least number of side effects but was so deterred and I am glad I came across this instead."

For Night Terrors "I've been taking the HERB (not a drug) St. John's Wort for 18 years. I find it very helpful for moderate depression, and so do millions of people in the U.S., and especially Europe. In fact, in most countries in Europe, it is recommended 8 to 1 over Prozac. "

For Depression "SJW literally changed my life after the first week. I take the liquid form 2-3 times a day. I had severe morning anxiety and depression that at times was almost debilitating. The SJW helps me think clearer, less emotional and while I can still feel the days I have the depression bubbling up, I can actually realize its there and I can consciously derail it. Wish I would have taken this years ago.."

For Depression "So I've been to doctors and been prescribed medications a few times. Somehow they always make me feel unlike myself. They make me incredibly tired, which I'm turn made me miserable. Then I had a chance to try St. John's wort. I've been on it for about a month now. At the beginning, I did have some vivid dreams and the first dose gave me a stomachache. But I gave it a chance to work and here I am now. I usually have bad depression and mood swings, but lately I feel balanced. I feel calm. It's much easier for me to be and to STAY happy. I started out with 300mg a day and now I take about 1200mg daily, 600mg in the morning and 600mg before bed. I don't think it'll work the same for everyone, and probably different doses will be needed for each individual. But I'd recommend started out at a minimal dose and seeing how it works for you. I'm so thankful I gave it a chance. I'm happy now."

For Depression "I started taking saint John wort a week ago. I have bad anxiety with slight depression, but its being looked into if thus could be PTSD as I have flash backs, fear of leaving the house alone, a lot of trouble sleeping, mild panic attacks the list goes on. Anyway, I have been sleeping easier without that groggy drugged feeling you get with sleeping tablets. I have been calmer and for 5 days haven't felt overwhelmed with fear. I have been relaxed enough to go to the shop alone. I don't feel as down. I've also been taking b12 in the morning so have a bit more energy to. I will say though I don't like the taste, it stinks and I have noticed my hair has gotten greasy really fast? Oh and I'm not smoking as much, just don't fancy one as much now."

For Depression "Same here as in never-going-back to prescription medications. They were disastrous (Abilify), rejected through final massive allergic reaction by my body after several years (Depakote), left me clumsy (lithium), increased my mood cycling (Lexipro) and caused tachycardia (Trazodone), made me feel like a zombie (Tegretol) or lock-up all my limbs when effects of previous dose wore off (Valium). Today I am thoroughly experienced with herbal medicine, and I have to say, St. John's wort is a very effective herb for controlling mood extremes and reducing nervousness without sedation. It seems to have no serious effects with me. I use Vitanica brand only now, because the effectiveness of just one per day is enough"
